Professor Gunderson began his formal Martial Arts training in November
1970, in Chicago, Illinois in Okinawan Shorei-Goju-Ryu Karate under
Grand Master Charles Czochara. On September 18th, 1973, he attained the
rank of Shodan (First Degree Black Belt) and presently holds the rank
of Rokudan (Sixth Degree Black Belt) in this system.
Professor Gunderson holds a Seventh Degree Black Belt in Sei Ryoku Zen
Yo Karate (awarded on July 10th, 2004), and an Eighth Degree Black Belt
in Wa Jutsu Kido Ryu Karate (awarded on August 9th, 2002.)
Professor Gunderson tested and received his Phd / MA on August 9th,
2002.
Grandmaster Gunderson is President and Chief Instructor for Winning
Edge Martial Arts in Park Ridge, Illinois and Vice President of the
I.C.K.O.
