Dr. John "Bosco" Waldrop, Soke,
Judan (10th degree Black Belt)


At age 12, Grand Master John "Bosco" Waldrop worked at the YMCA in exchange for a membership in a Karate school.
Grandmaster John Waldrop has achieved not only one Black Belt but numerous, including a 10th Degree Black Belt. John received his Soke by Soke Council consisting of Grandmaster Carlos Diaz, Soke., Grandmaster Giovani Acevedo,Soke., Grandmaster Michael DeFillipo, Soke., Grandmaster Raul Soto,Kudan. John also holds a 7th degree black belt in Sei Ryoku Zen Yo Karate by Grandmaster Carlos Diaz, a 6th Degree in Combat Sport karate, Sport Tae-Kwon-Do, a 5th Degree Black Belt by Soke Darrell Cain in Cain-Ryu-Bujutsu Karate, a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Hutton-Ryu-Jitsu, a 2nd Degree Black Belt by  in American Fudoshin Bujutsu. In 1988, he opened up his own school The Combat Sport Karate Club. After four years, he was to close the school due to relocation. Grand Master Waldrop also conducts seminars on Hand to Hand Self Defense and refereed at over 300 "Tuff Man" & kickboxing events including for the original "FX Tuff Man." He has also practiced Boxing for several years. In 1996 he won the A.F.T.A. Illinois Full Contact Kickboxing Champion Title Belt also he was a Silver Medalist and Illinois State Champion in Fighting. 2000 he was inducted into the U.S.M.A. Hall of Fame and honored as the "Outstanding Martial Artist of the Year."  2001 he was inducted in to the World Martial Arts League & International Association of Karate & Kobudo Hall of Fame in Puerto Rico and into the W.H.O.S.C. Hall of Fame as the "Master Competitor of the Year." In 2002 He founded the I.C.K.O. Illinois Martial Arts Hall of Fame and is now teaching at community college and at the Y.M.C.A. He was honored in the National Council of the Higher Arts Education with The American Humanitarian Award.
In May 2003 Bosco received the “Outstanding Kick Boxing Instructor of the
Year” from the WMAL & HRIMAA Hall of Fame in Kimberling City, Missouri. After meeting and working with Bill "Super foot" Wallace and Joe Lewis, John still has another dream to fulfill: to appear in a Martial Arts movie
